While you can’t guarantee success in life, at DAQRI we believe early education and student encouragement are strong factors in the equation. We’re committed to support pursuits that enable developing minds.
Over the course of two weeks, DAQRI Co-Founder Gaia Dempsey visited students at Carson High School, located just south of Downtown Los Angeles, and AGBU Manoogian-Demirdjian School in Canoga Park, CA, as part of our involvement with Junior Achievement Southern California’s November LAUNCH Program. This nationwide program conceptualized by parent company Junior Achievement USA, actively celebrates National Entrepreneurship Month by sending local professionals who embody the ‘Entrepreneurial Spirit’ into a high school classroom to share their story and inspire future entrepreneurs.
In addition to teaching students business and financial literacy skills, JASoCal believes it’s important to expose Los Angeles youth to the growing LA Tech/ Silicon Beach Community.
During her visit with Carson High School and AGBU students, Gaia shared our vision of a world where we stop limiting ourselves, a world where everyone can discover their true potential. She challenged the students to think differently and create something they are passionate about. We encourage you to do the same.
At DAQRI, we believe programs like JASoCal’s November LAUNCH Program are vital to removing limitations students face. Unlike most industries, our educational system has struggled to evolve over time. The setup and structure of classrooms today mirror those of 100 years ago. This antiquated design can limit a student’s ability to express knowledge in creative and innovative ways, forcing them to conform to the status quo. It’s time that changes. As John F. Kennedy said, “Conformity is the jailer of freedom and the enemy of growth.” We need to ensure students can still dream of a better world if we’re to have any hope of living in one.
DAQRI is committed to inspiring students, and everyone, to dream without limitations.
